Watch Out For Ectaco - Lingvosoft Ripoff Scams
Anyone considering buying ECTACO software after getting a popup window inviting an offer followed by an email offering them a promotional code for a discount BEWARE!
This happened to me. I phoned them (from the UK) to find out how I would get the discount. They advised that it would be deducted from the final bill. It wasn't. I asked them for my $80 refund and got fobbed off about it being my fault.
The lowdown is that once you get stung that's it. Any decent company would honour it's offer.
I was offered my software bundle at $219, a reduction of $80 from the original $299 on the Western European bundle. I input the promotional code but still ended up paying $299.
