...or does the Treo 650 and T5 suck - primarily because of the OS / software configuration?
I've been contemplating a new PDA to replace my E. The E2 is a complete non-starter and I'm reading elsewhere of reams of problems and complaints with the 650 and T5, primarily in the weird configurations (RealOne Player imbedded in the OS for the 650, ditto Docs2Go in the T5, for example) and the unstable behaviour of the OS - with no apparent recognition from Pa1mOne that there is a problem and/or updates to sort the problems.
Time was when Palm products were the defacto PDAs of professionals and home users alike - now it seems many can't get thru a day without a fatal exception or worse occurring - and neither the consumer nor the retailer have been warned. The Media have been suspiciously quiet on the problems, while there are frustrated users talking about Class Action suits. Pa1mOne can blame PalmSource if they like for the OS - but for the users, it all just looks like a failure of their Palm.
Normally, I would rather have an open running sore than contemplate WinOS Mobile, ActiveSync and Outlook - but that may be my only option in my next PDA. Sharp is dropping Linux in North America and Psion has been integrated into products I don't want, so.....?
