I have a quick question about installing software and synching.

I have a Visor Prism that I have been using, however, I just bought a Zire 72. I would like to keep the prism (the modules can be useful) but if I install the new Zire software I am not sure if the prism will be able to sync (since it is different versions of the desktop software).

How can I keep both the zire and the prism on my computer, and be able to sync both of them. Keep in mind that I want to transfer my current contacts and such to my new PDA.

Chris,

There should be no problem with the different versions of the desktop software.

The real issue will be the HotSync IDs assigned to the two Palms. It
will create serious conflicts if they have the same HotSync IDs. There
are work arounds but they are time consuming and can fail.

When a sync is completed the "bits" are set with the date and time.
When the next sync starts the PC Date and Time is compared to the date
and time for the last hotsync on the Palm. This checking goes to the
item level and is the means by which the renewed and deleted items are
put in their proper order in the sync.

Clearly you can sync the two Palms to two different PCs and they can have the same HotSync IDs. Just don't swap them around.
