I have a Tungsten E and it was working good. All of a sudden when I tap on an icon I get the icon above it to open.
I used the digitizer and the problem is fixed. I have had to do this 4 times this week.
Can anyone help me? I shouldn't have to keep digitizing every other day.
Thanks
Jake
I have a Palm Vx which has been known to develop somtimes severe digitizer problems over time. The problem got so bad on my Vx that I couldn't even get to the digitizer.
Have you checked with Palm support already (you have haven't you?) and they have no info for you? I have seen new screens on eBay for the Palm Vx that supposedly can help fix digitizer problems. That is if the problem is really with the screen and not the electronics. I'm not sure my problem is with the screen. The screens were too expensive to me to fix the problem on my older Palm Vx.
There are several utilities that let you calibrate the digitizer on a soft reset. I chose to use DigiFix 1.2 from Copera (www.copera.com; was previously from Cooperative Computers www.coopcomp.com ). You can also use this program instead of the regular digitizer.
I didn't want to have to reset my Palm everytime my digitizer was screwed up (mine was doing this 4 to 5 times a day...). I found a hack called HBX from RNS (www.ranosoft.net/hbx) that let's you assign programs to your hard keys. I assigned DigiFix to one of them and now can call it from one of my hard keys if I can't get to it from the screen.
Sorry for the length and not much direct help. Hope the workaround helps you out.
