Palm T2 Gps Timeout

I'm having trying to use my T2 with a bluetooth GPS but the problem comes after a few minutes when the Palm times out and turns off. When I turn it back on I have to re-initialize the GPS. Oh yeah, and it takes 2 cycles of initializing via bluetooth. It finds the GPS, asks if I want to connect, I select yes, it then searches again, and I have to do it a second time before it goes ahead and allows me to use it.

1) Any recommendations on a program to defeat the timeout function (I'm running on external power cord so I won't be running down the internal batter)

2) Any ideas on why the bluetooth seeks the device twice? It's a Deluo GPS.
