I think you need to try out a few units at stores and see which make the most sense to you - from a navigation and usability point-of-view. Of the two major PDA OSs, I think (and here I know I'm just encouraging flaming) that the WinMobile OS (as found in Dell, HP, etc) is better at handling multimedia - games, video and audio - while the Palm OS is better at all things text, especially with the inclusion of Docs2Go. This is not to say either can't do much of what the other does, it is just their strengths are, I think, as I mentioned. For my part, I've just returned to Palm from a 2 months with a WinMobile device. I've bought the TX - a device that allows wi-fi access to the net, has PIM features (especially when tied to the Palm Desktop on my computer) that makes sense to me, and which still allows me access to music and video. It has plenty of internal memory and the ability to add more storage via a SD card - as does WinMobile devices. If there would be a caveat, it would be that Palm's build quality and Support has declined precipitiously in the last few years, while the brief period I had with the WinMobile device (a Dell Axim) found that the few times I did call Support of Customer Care, they didn't try and fob me off with a stock answer - or no solution at all. Meanwhile, a reverse caveat - the installed default Desktop on your computer for WinMobile is the very old Outlook 2002. If you've never used it before you'll find it counter-intuitive, bloated and just generally ugly to use. I much prefer the Palm Desktop as portal and conduit to my PDA. Hope this helps?
