I had an interesting experience yesterday with Handango, and I thought I would share it with you folks. I downloaded and played with a piece of software, SnapperMail Premier. Looked pretty good, so I ordered it. Got my reg code fast, and I thought everything was cool. Well, as it turned out, I forgot to check out the email filtering capabilities in Snapper - it turns out it does not have any. I contacted the developers to ask about it; they responded by saying that using filters is not an efficient way to eliminate spam. Of course, we all know server side spam filters are bad too; I have lost LOTS of mail due to server side filters. And they completely ignored the part that filters are used by many of us to file email, such as e-zines, etc into other folders for review at a later time. So, I am out the $50. My fault, totally, because I forgot to check that out first. I wrote a review of Snapper and posted it on Handango, stating the above, and I mentioned TWICE that it was my fault that I wasted the $50 on software that does not meet my needs. If it had the filtering, I would have given it 5 stars; but without it, I only give it a 2-star rating. It appeared shortly after my sending it, using their online form. This morning, I discovered that they had removed it! Now all that are left of reviews are the good ones, from what I can see. Why would they remove it? Did the developer tell them to? What not have open, honest reviews posted? Makes me wonder, now, if any of the reviews are worth a damn because it appears they are being censored by the either the developers or the site itself. I wrote a letter to Ashley Walker at Handango, in the Public Relations department to see what she can tell me. I was just totally shocked that they would remove an honest review, just because it was not flattering. Anyone else have any experiences like this with Handango (or other sites)? Tom
